Las Cazuelas Restaurant & Pupuseria

3 Decades Strong !!!

Las Cazuelas is more than a Salvadoran restaurant in Highland Park—it's a place where authentic flavors, family traditions, and cherished memories come together. Every recipe is inspired by Mama Ney's legacy and prepared with the same care and passion that has welcomed generations of guests through our doors.

From our famous handmade pupusas and traditional Salvadoran specialties to authentic Mexican favorites, every meal is crafted with fresh ingredients and time-honored recipes. But we don't just serve delicious food—we serve nostalgia. Each bite brings back memories of family gatherings, home-cooked meals, and the comforting flavors that connect us to our roots.

Whether you're discovering Salvadoran cuisine for the first time, craving the best pupusas in Los Angeles, or looking for an authentic family restaurant in Highland Park, Las Cazuelas offers more than a meal—it offers an experience filled with warmth, culture, and genuine hospitality.

As we continue sharing Mama Ney's legacy with the Highland Park community, we invite you to gather around our table, create new memories, and become part of the Las Cazuelas family.

For over 30 years, Las Cazuelas has proudly served the Highland Park community, standing firm as a testament to our enduring legacy.

Our resilience over the years, supported by the strength of our community, has allowed us to thrive as a business. Initially, with a smaller Salvadoran population, we expanded our menu to include Mexican cuisine, such as tacos, to ensure our sustainability.

This diversity in our offerings reflects our adaptability and commitment to meeting the needs of our patrons while honoring our roots.

What is a Pupusa?

They are thick corn tortillas that can be stuffed with various fillings, including various meats, refried beans, cheese, and even squash flowers.

The filled corn tortillas are then cooked to perfection on a traditional grill referred to as a comal. Per Salvadoran tradition, pupusas are usually topped with spicy coleslaw, called curtido, traditionally comprised of onions, carrots, cabbage, and a mixture of incredibly flavorful spices.
